Right in the thick of state presidential primaries, students will gather to discuss their ideals for the United States and its future. As each candidate touts his or her vision of the ?next? America, students deliberate the following question: What do we want the United States to stand for in the world?

For this program, students from all over the country are invited to put aside their political allegiances and come together over the course of two days through videoconferencing to shape their ideal Future of America.  Students will prepare for the videoconferences using the Choices for the 21st Century Education Program lesson plan U.S. Role in the World.

Tuesday, February 5: In groups of up to three classes, students discuss worldwide perceptions of the U.S., the values they believe their country should stand for, and how to get there. The videoconference is moderated by a GNG staff member.

High School: 9 – 10 am | 1 - 2 pm (EST)
