The PULSE: Iraq: Cut Loose or Stay Put?

In this special 2-day PULSE program, students will consider different policy alternatives for US involvement in Iraq, and the wider role of the United States in the world. Students will share their thoughts with their peers, ask each other questions, and gain unique insight from Hans von Sponeck, the former UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq under the Oil for Food Program.

Tuesday, March 20: Meeting by videoconference with Hans von Sponeck, former UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Iraq, and author of "Another Kind of War The Sanctions Regime of the UN in Iraq".

Time: 11-12 EST or 1-2 pm EST
Thursday, March 22 | Friday, March 23: A roundtable discussion on US and international policy towards Iraq. Students will be linked with up to 2 other schools to share their thoughts on the conflict in Iraq, answering questions such as "How long should we stay?", "Do we need more troops?" or "How should we be helping the Iraqi government?"
