In an age of increasing global interdependence, the rift between the East and West has become increasingly apparent and, as such, increasingly necessary to address. To discuss this divide and get to know one another on a personal basis, young people from Jordan and North America will participate in a series of videoconferences on their cultures, political views, and commonalities.

In this special videoconferencing series, American students will learn about Jordanian young people while Jordanian youth develop a greater awareness of what it means to be a teenager in the U.S. These young “diplomats” will engage in dialogue about topics ranging from Islam and the West to the global water shortage throughout two months of conferencing. Working together, students will explore solutions to the problems they face as citizens of the same world.
