Camfed International and Global Nomads Group are pleased to present:
Where the Water Meets the Sky: Film for Education & Social Change
Bringing the developing world into your classroom, "Where the Water Meets the Sky" tells the inspiring story of 23 women from rural Zambia who are trained in filmmaking. This courageous group has produced a film about an issue that no one will discuss: the plight of young women orphaned by AIDS. Narrated by Academy Award-winner, Morgan Freeman, "Where the Water Meets the Sky" features Penelop, a young woman who shares her story on camera. The 60-minute film is a story of friendship, courage and hope that resonates with young people internationally. Among the 23 young women who were trained in filmmaking, many were non-literate - demonstrating the power of film for addressing complex and contentious issues. During this special PULSE session, students from many different places will engage with the filmmakers about the current situation of HIV/AIDS in the world and how they can raise awareness about the pandemic, using Zambia as a compelling case study. Participating schools will view the documentary prior to December 1st in their classrooms. For more information on the film, please see the following link: www.watermeetssky.com

If you are unable to screen the film on World AIDS Day but are interested in screening the film at your school on another day, please email hostascreening@watermeetssky.com, with "where the water/GNG" in the subject line of your email.
