Millions of people have been displaced from their homes because of the crisis in Darfur. In August 2004 the Global Nomads Group team journeyed to a refugee camp in Chad to learn firsthand about the lives of the Sudanese refugees who have fled their country as a result of the genocide.

This documentary follows the story of a teenage boy named Zach and his family who escaped and now live in the Breidjing refugee camp located on the Chad-Sudan border. On February 10th, 2004, Zach’s village of Tuloos was surrounded by Janjaweed militia on horseback and in helicopters. They attacked the small town, bombing and torching houses. Families likes Zach’s were separated as they tried to escape fleeing in all directions. Zach shares with us his incredible story, the hardships of living in a refugee camp, and his hope for the future.

Aid workers from NGOs such as Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, and Care provide insight into the crisis and what more can be done to support the victims of this horrific genocide.
