GLOBAL NOMADS GROUP PRESENTS "PROJECT VOICE."

IRAQI AND U.S. YOUTH COMMUNICATE FACE-TO-FACE OVER 2-WAY LIVE BROADCAST

Live videoconference co-moderated by ABC News Correspondent Chris Cuomo brings- together American and Iraqi teenagers in Connecticut and Baghdad

NEW YORK/BAGHDAD (February 28, 2003) - A two-way broadcast will unite Iraqi youth (ages 14-17) with their peers in the United States on Monday, March 3rd at 10:00 AM (ET), non-profit Global Nomads Group said today. During the ninety-minute exchange, high school students from Bloomfield, Connecticut, and Baghdad, Iraq, will discuss their similarities and differences, and learn about one another's cultures and daily lives. The event, entitled Project Voice, will be broadcast Live over the Internet at http://www.gng.org and will be co-moderated by Emmy award winning ABC News Correspondent Chris Cuomo.

Amid tensions between the US and Iraq, organizers hope that this conference will document the power of dialogue to help bridge cultural misunderstanding. During the event children will learn about one another's cultures, customs and opinions on a wide range of issues. The exchange will open with participants playing an instrument for their audience on the other side of the world. Students will then respond to a series of prepared questions and take part in a moderated question and answer period.

Global Nomads Group co-founder Mark von Sponeck said: "Youth hear a lot about Iraq in terms of conflict, but in fact little is known in America about this country and its people. By the same token, how much do Iraqi children really know about the United States and its youth? We hope that this conference can begin to create bridges between them."

Global Nomads Group say Project Voice is designed to embody the organization's mission of fostering dialogue and understanding between youth. Co-founder Jonathan Giesen added: "GNG aims to bring children from different cultures together so that they may broaden their minds to the world that is out there. We're excited to organize this conference, and hope that participants will leave it knowing that children around the world have similar aspirations."
