Mozambique Alive - Teachers & Students
Welcome to the Teachers & Students section of the Mozambique Alive website. Here you’ll find information that we used to help students prepare for, and get the most out of, this program.

First things first:
You can review the section About Mozambique to acquire a basic knowledge of this country.

Suggested Reading and Activities for Conferences 1 and 2 (Culture):

Lesson Plan 1: Writing Good Questions
In this lesson plan, we provide suggestions on how to teach students about factual, evaluative and interpretive questions. Students can determine the potential benefits and drawbacks of each type of question and make a "Tips for Writing Good Questions" list that they can follow during videoconferences.

Lesson Plan 2: Our Culture Brainstorm
This lesson plan introduces the idea of culture and helps students understand and discover new things about their own culture.

Lesson Plan 3: Videoconference Basics
This lesson covers basic information about videoconferencing, correct videoconferencing etiquette and equipment techniques. If the equipment is available, students may have the opportunity to practice using the cameras and microphones to prepare for a videoconference.

Background Information on Mozambique's Civil War
This lesson plan will give you and your students an overview of Mozambique's history and the issues that led to the country's 16-year civil war.
