Mozambique Alive - About Mozambique

Government:
The Republic of Mozambique, formerly known as Portuguese East Africa until the Independence declared on June 25, 1975. The Mozambique government is very similar to that of the United States: everyone may vote at age 18, and there are the same 3 branches of the government with the same basic jobs: Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, and Judicial Branch.

Economy:
Since Mozambique’s liberation in 1975 and the following civil war from 1977-1992, the economy has grown into a much more stable, though still dependent, nation.
