Semester at Sea is a cross-cultural global studies program administered by the Institute for Shipboard Education, with undergraduate academic credit certified by the University of Pittsburgh. Since 1963, nearly 40,000 have participated in the program. Semester at Sea provides opportunities for the exploration and study of many of the people, places and cultures around the world. Programs are designed for undergraduate students seeking to include an international component to their college experience. A limited number of non-student travelers may also take advantage of the Semester at Sea experience through the Semester at Sea Continuing Education Program.

YouthAIDS, an HIV/AIDS education and prevention initiative of Population Services International (PSI), targets youth between the ages of 15-24 with positive upbeat messages of abstinence, consistent and correct condom use for sexually active young adults and delayed sexual debut. YouthAIDS uses media, pop culture, music, theater and sports to reach 600 million young people in over 60 countries with life-saving messages, products, services and care. www.youthaids.org To support a pro active response The Staying Alive Foundation with support from DIFFA will award the Staying Alive Award to one young person in each of the a participating countries of the GNG CURRENTS program. The staying Alive Awards are given yearly to young individuals who are focused on stopping the spread of HIV and AIDS and have demonstrated the
potential to become future leaders. The award comes with a $1,000 to assist them in the continuation of their commitment and provides public recognition to inspire others to get involved.
