Get Involved: Host a Student


Interested in learning how you can gain a global perspective, develop solutions to the challenging issues facing the world or have a positive impact in your community? Get involved in an international exchange program by hosting an exchange student!

At AYUSA, we believe the way to really experience another culture is by opening your heart and home to a young person from another country. Each host family has their own personal reason for deciding to host an AYUSA exchange student. Some families would like to have a more personal connection with another country, others find that it is essential to educate their children about other cultures and most families want broaden their own understanding of the world.

AYUSA students come from countries all over the world – including Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and the South Pacific. While each student is unique, all AYUSA students are academic achievers between 15 – 18 years of age who are eager to have a positive impact on their host family’s community through volunteer work or involvement in sports, music, theater and other extra-curricular activities.
