Connecting Voices: Exchange with Students from the Islamic world
Save the date! November 16, 2005 at 12 pm EST What's it like to be an exchange student from the Islamic World, living in the United States with an American host family and attending high school? In a rare opportunity, students from around the United States will be able to ask questions and share ideas with exchange students from the Middle East and South Asia through the videoconference, "Connecting Voices." In celebration of International Education Week, AYUSA International, in partnership with the International Education and Resource Network (IEARN) and the Global Nomads Group, will bring together high school exchange students from Gaza, Jordan and Pakistan with high school students from around the United States. The exchange students featured in this conference are current or former participants of the U.S. Department of State sponsored YES and BRIDGE programs. In a time of elevated political and social tensions, youth exchange programs
inspire understanding through personal relationships. Exchange programs provide
a forum for people to share ideas, customs, and perspectives across different
cultures to develop solutions for increasingly complex global issues. This video
