Geography/Region:
The northern part of Brazil is home to the famous Amazonian rainforests, which also cover parts of Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, and Ecuador. The terrain in the south is more hilly and open, making it the more densely populated region. The east coast of Brazil is on the Atlantic Ocean, while the west coast borders Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay. Brazil constitutes one-half of South America in landmass and is certainly the widest country in the continent in terms of latitude.
